Overview

Founded in 2024, The Sharpe Financial Research Group at the University of Toronto is dedicated to providing students with a platform to create industry-grade financial research. We offer a holistic approach through three main functions:

  1. Financial Research Programme: Gain real-world experience by working on comprehensive financial research projects.

  2. Sharpe Review Newsletter: An innovative monthly newsletter featuring upcoming campus opportunities, finance and economic news, and highlights of our research team's work.

  3. General Member Events: Engage in workshops, speaker sessions, networking events, and competitions to enhance your skills and professional development.

Our mission is to create a collaborative environment where students can develop professionally and academically, acquiring the necessary skills to break into buy-side finance. The Sharpe Review sets us apart by keeping students informed about all relevant opportunities and news. The Financial Research Programme offers practical experience, while the General Member Events provide networking and skill-building opportunities. Together, we provide a high-quality and comprehensive preparation for future finance professionals.

The Sharpe Review

The Sharpe Review is our innovative monthly newsletter designed to keep you informed and engaged with the latest in economics, finance, and campus opportunities.

The Review serves as a comprehensive resource for finance-interested students, designed to fill the gap left by department-specific newsletters that might not cover all relevant opportunities. It ensures you stay informed about important news and events within the University of Toronto and beyond.

Every iteration of The Review includes these sections:

2, "This Month at UofT"

Highlights notable events and upcoming opportunities at the University of Toronto, including speaker series, workshops, case competitions, internship opportunities, and other relevant events hosted by various clubs, organisations, and departments across the University.

3, "Analyst Spotlight"
